The
American Society of Interior Designers, Inc. ("ASID")
respects the privacy of its Web site users. ASID
does not collect personal information through its
Web site from its Web site users other than the information
its Web site users voluntarily provide ASID through
use of its Web site.
Such
information consists of the Web site user's name,
address, phone number, fax number, e-mail address
and user's Web site address (URL).
This
information may be used by ASID in any one or more
of the following ways:
- To
send ASID-related materials by mail, e-mail or
otherwise to its Web site users;
- To
distribute time-sensitive information such as Legislative
Alerts or NewsFlash via e-mail and/or fax;
- To
notify its Web site users about products, services,
and other information ASID believes its Web site
users might want to know.
If
for any reason you do not wish to receive this information
from ASID, you may check the appropriate box(es)
on your membership information or notify ASID in
writing either via e-mail to asid@asid.org or
via letter to ASID, 608 Massachusetts Ave., NE, Washington,
DC 20002-6006.
Information
collected from individuals using the ASID Worldwide
Referral Service is used only for purposes of matching
them with qualified designers and for sending referral
information to them. It is not shared with third
parties or used for any other purpose. You may choose
not to have this information shared with the designers
whose names come up for referral.
ASID
may use "cookies" which are placed on users' computers
from ASID's Web site, for the purpose of facilitating
the Web site user's log in process. ASID does not
collect personal information through "cookies," nor
does ASID track individual use of its Web site in
any specific way. ASID aggregates Web site user information
and reports on aggregated usage, not on individual
users. If you do not wish the login "cookie" to be
placed on your computer, you can un-check the box
marked "Remember my log-in" by clicking on the box,
or you can set your browser to refuse "cookies." However,
if you do so, you will have to login each time you
visit the site.
You
will also be given the opportunity to let ASID know
if you do not wish to receive the information described
above by clicking on a designated "opt out" button
on ASID's Web site.
ASID
Web site users will, if the Web site user clicks
on links and/or ad banners, be taken to third-party
Web sites. You will, in such regard, be subject to
the third-party's privacy policies, and ASID cannot
be responsible for such third-parties' actions. ASID
encourages you to read the privacy policies of such
third parties.
ASID
reserves the right to modify ASID's Privacy Policy
from time to time, and will post changes to its Privacy
Policy so that you might be made aware of such changes.
By
visiting ASID's Web site you are accepting the terms
of ASID's Privacy Policy. You can, of course, elect
not to provide information, but in doing so you might
not be able to receive the information described
above.
